About Us

StoneHare Clay is an NC-based pottery partnership between husband and wife, Jon Mizrach and Erin Snider.  They each create primarily wheel-thrown decorative and functional ceramics, but have very distinctive styles.  

Jon works in porcelain clay bodies with crystalline glazes.  Jon enjoys learning about the chemistry behind crystalline glazes and the unique crystal formations that emerge based on different factors.  Erin works with stoneware clay bodies and enjoys adding 3-D elements and Sgraffito to her pieces; she takes her inspiration from nature, specifically greenery, mushrooms, and florals.

Erin and Jon live and work out of Garner, NC.  They discovered their passion for ceramics after taking a one-off pottery class at a local pottery studio.  After this, they took classes and joined the studio as members where they enjoyed learning and working with other potters.  Since then, they’ve set up a studio in their garage where they create all of their work.  Jon and Erin both work in the software industry, but use pottery as a creative outlet.

Fun fact: the logo and name for StoneHare Clay is inspired by their 12 year old bunny named Nugget.
